From the 2024-2025 season:

26% of students were first-time SHKB participants.
96% plan to participate in Knowledge Bowl again next year (or would if they weren’t graduating).
94% strengthened their teamwork skills by participating in SHKB.
100% of coaches agreed that participating in SHKB teaches students to communicate effectively and learn that they must work together in order to be successful.
When asked “What is your favorite part about KB?”, students said…

“When we didn’t know the answer so we made a guess and got it right.”
“The community, whether it be the supportive competitors or coaches, there’s always a spot for me.”
“Laughing over crazy pulls and funny answers! Bonding with friends is so fun in KB.”
“Making friends and meeting people with similar interests.”
“Placing at two meets!”
When asked “What tips would you give to a first-time KB player?”, students said…

“Buzz often. Buzz fast.”
“It’s not always bad if you lose, think of all that you’ve learned and how that can apply to your future success.”
“Focus on teamwork over anything.”
“Just have fun with it. This is a super fun activity, and I recommend going all in, not just halfway.”
“Write down answers you don’t get and study them after, so you get them in the future.”
